Life Update: Adulting has begun!

What’s up, guys it’s been a minute since my last post, and if I’m honest, I have no excuse. Since the last time I blogged, a lot has happened to me, so let me give you guys a quick run-down.

I am a Graduate

I guess the first thing I should start with is the fact that I’ve graduated from university. Your boy is a full First-Class Computer Science graduate. Not only was I able to get a first-class overall, I also achieved 85% in my dissertation. It’s nice to know that my four years of grinding wasn’t in vain. However, finishing university isn’t without its caveats. No more waking up at 2 PM. No more popping into my friends at 4 AM, and no more doing nothing but work in the library. Adulting has now begun, and it requires me to manage my time wisely.

Summer Was Lit

This summer was definitely one for the history book. Man, it was fun. I finally have cool stories I can tell my grandkids. Organising my graduation party was definitely the best part, but that’s a blog post for another day. I should also mention that I met a special somebody this summer… who? Wouldn’t you like to know?

Another Summer Internship

After completing university, I had no time to rest, diving straight into a 10-week internship at Goldman Sachs. Now, if you have been following me for a while, you’ll know that I successfully converted my year-long placement at JPMorgan into a graduate job. So why the need for another internship?

That’s an excellent question, especially given this is my last full-length summer. Wouldn’t it have been wiser to spend this summer “enjoying myself”?

The answer is quite simple, how was I supposed to know that summer would happen. If you haven’t noticed, the UK has dipped in and out of lockdown more times than I dip my chips into ketchup. So, my rationale behind doing a summer internship was to have something to do, in case summer was cancelled. Ironically doing the internship was a blast even though summer wasn’t cancelled. I got to meet some outstanding people, and it gave me the money I needed to enjoy myself.

So, after the internship, I was faced with a very daunting question JPMorgan or Goldman Sachs…. If you want to know the answer to that question, read my next blog post. Make sure you sign up to my emailing list below so you don’t miss it.
